Artist Statement

Art is shaping a feeling, an emotion or experience, ideas and concepts into existence. Utilizing drawing as my medium, my work examines the human condition through personal experiences. Each piece I create is an extension of me in the sense that it is connected to the past, where I have been and what I have learned, my present and as well as the possibilities of what my future could be.

Though my interest in human expressions might make some think so or see me as one, I don't classify myself as a portrait artist. I believe there is more to a person than meets the eye hence my fascination with exploring the depth of human nature and it's emotional force. In the nearest future, I intend to venture into other forms of art but presently I find solidarity in drawing because it gives me a sense of flexibility in creating and interpreting my ideas. With my work, I aim to provoke thoughts, awaken a sense of emotional connections and expose the unseen or avoided themes of life to my audience.
