Jonathan Mopa Musa

Biography

Jonathan Mopa Musa was born and raised in Northern Nigeria, Kaduna Zaria precisely in

the year 1995. He still works and resides in Zaria currently. Musa practiced art from the very

tender age of 3 and was influenced and perpetually encouraged by his father who was a

part-time artist in his early years.

Musa majored in Fine Arts (Art History) and graduated with a BA from the prestigious Anmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna in the year 2017. Jonathan's art style is eclectic and he is erudite in a lot of media such as acrylic, pastel, graphite, charcoal, gouache, watercolor, and chalk but quite recently, his style has been revamped to abstract as a consequence of his autodidactic studies in behavioral psychology which he has been undergoing for the last 5 years. Musa studied the findings of the late Swiss Psychiatrist Dr. Carl G. Jung and belongs to the Jungian school of psychology. His abstract works aim at educating the viewers about the enigmatic psyche of man and how it affects our behavior profoundly. Musa believes his works can give a deeper insight into the mass psychosis that's plaguing modern society and can help alleviate the effect, hereby reducing the ever-growing cases of mental illnesses we see today.

With his art and knowledge, he aims to help people help themselves by knowing themselves inherently and what they are truly capable of.
